Don’t be fooled by the name, Dr Burger has been a Queenslander since the age of 2 when his parents transported him from his birthplace of Melbourne.

After living in Central and North Queensland as a child, he moved down to the big smoke of Brisbane to complete not one but two degrees at the University of Queensland, graduating from Dentistry with First Class Honors in 2005. After more than 6 years in a successful private general practice in the Brisbane suburb of Toowong, Eli has developed an unnatural enthusiasm for teeth. He believes strongly in continually improving and expanding his clinical skills through education and training. Through his efforts he has developed his skills and knowledge in all aspects of modern dentistry including cosmetic dentistry, resin and porcelain bonded restorations, veneers, crown and bridge work, implants and root canal therapy.

Despite Eli’s tooth obsession he managed (against the odds) to convince someone to marry him, and has been married to his wife Fiona for more than 5 happy years. His belief in delivering the highest quality of dentistry in a caring and friendly environment is a perfect fit for Avenue Dental’s ethos. So when the opportunity arose to join the Avenue Dental team, it was too good to miss.

Outside of dentistry Eli has been surfing since a young age, and enjoys all things in the water. He is also of the belief that he can make a mean curry, although his wife might claim that he should stick to what he is good at, dentistry!
